Giving hope where there seems to be no hope

Hope: to want something to happen, to be true … and think that it can.

If I had to choose a word for our ministry in 2022, it would be “hope.”

Our hopes for the people we are trying to serve – that Christ can use Julie’s Heart Cry to help improve their lives and point them to a relationship with Him. Our hope in Jesus – the foundation of everything we do and believe. Our hope for the future of women, children and the unborn in Central African Republic, Kenya, Uganda and other areas of Africa – that by being the hands of feet of Jesus, our ministry will help provide the tools for women to become self-sufficient and make God-honoring choices.

We are all about the sanctity of life at Julie’s Heart Cry. We aim to begin at the underbelly, listening and learning about the many reasons why millions of women in developing countries struggle to choose life for their unborn babies.

The top five reasons some women in sub-Saharan Africa tend to see abortion as a solution:

·      Poverty

·      Fear of parents

·      Stigmatization

·      Inability to complete education

·      Disowned by family

An average of 7 women dies each day in Kenya from abortion.

As we build girls’ homes, birthing centers, work with internally displaced women and women in refugee camps, we encourage self-sustainability by removing obstacles that could become a hindrance to choosing life. We also aim to give hope where there seems to be no hope.

I am asking you, my sisters in Christ, if you are willing to link hands and hearts to remove one obstacle at a time. Together, we can make a difference – one woman at a time – giving a fighting chance to that one unborn baby.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. ~ Romans 15:13
