During a trip to sub-Saharan Africa, our ministry learned of a heartbreaking situation – child mothers. Adolescent pregnancy is culturally taboo in this part of the world. Pregnant girls as young as 10 and 11, many the victims of rape or incest, are frequently abandoned by their families and pressured to have abortions.

In fact, many African countries encourage infanticide (the killing of newborns), often carried out by close family members.
