The tragic realities facing Africa’s kids
We pray this newsletter finds you enjoying the blessings of summer and making precious memories with those you love. Thank you for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and partnership with Julie’s Heart Cry. Your support makes it possible for us to continue reaching vulnerable women and children with the hope of the gospel.
Many of you have been part of this journey from the beginning and know that the Lord has allowed this ministry to serve in Mexico, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and the Central African Republic since our launch in 2017. While the ministry itself began several years earlier, we waited on God’s timing before taking that official step.
Since then, God has faithfully opened doors for us to share the gospel while meeting the practical needs of vulnerable women and children. Along the way, he has also opened our eyes to heartbreaking realities: girls just 12 and 13 years old who have become mothers; children abandoned by their own parents; little ones forced to leave orphanages as young as 5; and double orphans in remote villages who are expected to raise younger siblings, work the fields, and, in many cases, enter arranged marriages by the age of 14 or 15 (while boys are sent to school).
STANDING IN THE GAP
We have also met children as young as 8 who survive by begging, sleeping, and living on the streets—facing each day without the safety, love, or hope every child deserves.
How will these precious kids hear about the love of Jesus? Who will offer them tangible hope?
The desire of this ministry is not to stir pity, but to invite partners who are deeply convicted to help transform the lives of children who cannot defend or speak up for themselves.
Together, through the gospel and compassionate action, we can stand in the gap for children who have no one else to advocate for them.
