A 10-Year-Old Girl’s Dream Is Still Changing the World
“What would you like to do when you grow up?”
In a simple notebook, Cyrus and Julie’s youngest daughter, Irene, once wrote, “I want to help poor people.”
These were not just childhood words. They were seeds.
The couple prayed. They stepped out in faith. And today, the Mad-Bondos are watching God grow what Irene once wrote into something far greater than they could have imagined.
And this is not just their story. It is yours as well.
Because Irene went home to be with the Lord, and because people like you choose to step in and take ownership of this work, lives are being changed every day:
Seventy-nine children from ultra-poor communities are in school and hearing the Gospel.
Young girls, some as young as 13, abused, abandoned, and alone, are finding refuge at Irene’s Home of Hope.
Children who once slept under bridges or in the open air now have food, care, and the opportunity to know God’s love.
Every child in our programs receives medical care—from basic treatment to emergency, life-saving evacuations.
This is not just charity. This is something we are building together.
This is redemption. This is legacy. This is the Gospel in action.
Because of your faithfulness, this ministry continues to grow and reach farther. You are not just supporting this work, you are a part of it. This mission carries your fingerprints.
Together, we are seeing God raise something that will outlast all of us.
As Irene’s mother, Julie carries both the weight of loss and the deep joy of seeing her daughter’s life continue to bear fruit in ways she never could have imagined. Through gratitude to the Lord for what He has done, Julie can say with confidence, “it is well with my soul.”
Thank you for walking this journey with Julie. Thank you for helping carry this mission forward. Because of you, Irene’s words are no longer just written in a notebook … they are alive in transformed lives.
