One more unborn child is lost due to lack of reliable vehicle

As I’ve shared before, God has led Julie’s Heart Cry to minister to women and children who live in the underbelly of society. They have no voice and no hope; they are simply the discarded. I have the privilege of sitting across from many of these precious women as they agonizingly share their stories of horror over and over again.

Less than a week ago, a doctor told me about a tragedy he had witnessed firsthand in sub- Saharan Africa. A young mother had gone into labor and had to be transported by motorcycle to a medical facility. When she arrived at the first hospital, she was told they were not equipped to give her adequate medical care. She journeyed from one hospital to another. By the time she found one that could provide proper treatment, her ovary had ruptured … and her baby died.

Losing babies is the norm

That leaves us facing a painful truth: This unborn baby didn’t die because of an abortion clinic; this child died because there was no vehicle available to transport the mother safely and quickly to the hospital. You and I may call this story tragic; but to these underprivileged women, this is life as they know it. This is the norm for them.

So, as I listen to excruciating stories like this one, I have to ask myself: Can I not do better for these women? Can I not meet their physical needs along with their spiritual ones? Showing them the love and care of Jesus can open their hearts to receiving the Gospel.

Our primary goal at Julie’s Heart Cry has always been the sanctity of life, saving one unborn baby at a time from the abortion clinics rising in popularity in third-world countries.

However, I now realize there is another culprit robbing lives – a broken infrastructure and/or medical system. There is no such thing as 911 or an ambulance to come to the rescue in developing countries.

I pray this story – which represents thousands of preventable deaths in sub-Saharan Africa – breaks your heart like it broke mine. It’s hard to accept that this precious little life could have been spared if dependable transportation had been accessible.

Will you help us help them?

This prompts me to share my heart once again about the need for a truck as we minister in the Central African Republic. Several child mothers are due over the next few months; without a ministry vehicle, these laboring girls will be forced to ride on a motorcycle yet again.

The cost of a reliable truck is $50,000. We need 497 people to make a one-time donation of $100; together, we can reach this goal! And don’t forget Julie’s Heart Cry as you determine your year-end donations! You can contact me at juliesheartcry@gmail.com or call (434) 941- 2479 with any questions.

Every life is precious to God. Please help us purchase a vehicle so these mothers and their unborn children have a fighting chance. They’ve already had to overcome so many obstacles in life.

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you … Jeremiah 1:5
