Benicia: A story of hope and resilience

God allowed us to meet Benicia and her 8-month-old son while visiting a displaced village on the outskirts of Bangui in the Central African Republic. At just 14 years old, Benicia was already a mother, doing her best to care for herself and her baby by selling vegetables.

Benicia, an orphan, had been living with her aunt, who ultimately disowned her after Benicia refused to marry a 40-year-old man. With no family support and few options, she was left to navigate motherhood and survival on her own.

Six years ago, Benicia became the first of many child mothers welcomed into the Julie’s Heart Cry long-term program. Today, both Benicia and her son, Emmanuel, are doing well and thriving. Benicia is progressing well academically and has shown remarkable resilience and initiative. She is a natural entrepreneur, full of determination and hope for the future.

Prayer Requests
• Please pray for Emmanuel’s continued protection, good health, and overall well-being as he grows.

• Pray for Benicia as she continues her education and grows in wisdom, confidence, and faith.
