Milka’s Story

At just 11 years old, Milka walked 15 to 20 miles each day selling wet sand used to scrub pots and pans. She was simply trying to earn money to buy food for her family.

One morning, she arrived at the Julie’s Heart Cry compound exhausted and in pain, explaining that her family could not afford school fees, so she spent her days selling sand instead of attending school.

Our team purchased the sand she was selling, helped her family, and—with her mother’s consent—welcomed Milka into the Julie’s Heart Cry program. Shortly afterward, Milka experienced another deep loss when her mother and siblings moved away without leaving contact information.

Today, Milka is enrolled in first grade and, with the help of a tutor, is doing well academically. She is gentle, soft-spoken, and reserved.

Because of your faithful support and prayers, Milka now has stability and education through Julie’s Heart Cry. Please pray with us that Milka will come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
